The Winding River Players presented their latest performance, “SHORTS” to a large and lively audience The play included four, one-act comedies written by Kathryn Martin and directed by Sue MacCallum.

The second of the four one-act comedies literally went to the dogs!   "A Dog’s Life" starred Joe Malinowski as a cool dude Golden Retriever named Jocko, Martha Koletar as a sassy and prissy French Poodle, ballerina wannabe named FiFi, and Vet Assistant, Janet Ferraioli.

After a brief intermission, "Walter’s Wake" began with Mortician, Will U. Trustus played by Joe Koletar, Walter’s daughter played by Wendy Cifelli and her husband played by Bob Hack, the widow played by RoseMarie Fassbender, Uncle played by John Donavan, Walter’s long-time Mistress, Dolly played by Martha Koletar.

The last play, “Geriathletes” featured a reluctantly aging Athlete, Bill Fassbender and his younger more athletic friend and rival Joe Malinowski, his wife Margie played by Nina Maurin, and a cute runner played by Gwen Shafer.

The finale brought the entire SHORTS cast - dressed in shorts – to enjoy a standing ovation. The cast then did the hand-jive led by Gwen Shafer to the tune “Short, Shorts.”

Thanks to so many people who worked behind the scenes to make this production such a huge success: Mike Caiazza, Dave Britton, John Cifelli, Helen Montalbano, Barbara Caiazza, Sharon Vinciguerra, Meg Dellinger, Jim Berry, Chris Young, Byron Price, Frank Aaron, Susan Zimmerman and Ginger Johnson. No performance would be possible without a great crew and production team.
