2012

  • Brunswick County High Schools - One-Act Play Theatre Festival, Odell Williamson Auditorium, February 17, 6PM ~ Sue MacCallum will participate as one of the Adjudicators, Winding River Players have been invited to usher.

2011

  • Christmas Party for residents of Dosher Nursing Home and Ocean Trail Convalescent Center, Southport.  Sue MacCallum and The Tappers Extraordinaire dance to “We Need a Little Christmas,” sing carols, present gifts and refreshments, present surprise guests, Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus.

  • Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Ballet, Odell Williamson Auditorium.  “The Players” acted and danced roles of Russian parents at a Christmas party in Act I:  Meg Dellinger, Dee Engell, Ted Roupas and Sue MacCallum.  Sue MacCallum made costumes.  Wigs and swords were loaned from Omni Storage.

  • Productions of Give My Regards to Broadway and Aladdin, West Brunswick High School.  Drama Teacher, Jennifer Creighton-Negron borrowed a number of costumes and props from Omni Storage.

  • Brunswick Arts Council Thirtieth Anniversary Gala.  Entertainment written and directed by Sue MacCallum.  Brunswick Big Band and “The Players” entertained.  Actors/Impersonators: Meg and Jerry Dellinger as Scarlett O’Hara and Rhett Butler; Diane MacQuarrie as Lucille Ball.

  • Roast and Skit for Community Manager, Joan Page’s Retirement Party.  Written and directed by Martha Koletar.

  • 4 Theatre Workshops (Acting I, Acting II, Basic Lighting, Basic Sound Reinforcement), Odell Williamson Auditorium, made possible by a grant from The Brunswick Arts Council.  Organizer: Sue MacCallum, refreshments and videography by Winding River Players.  Acting Workshops led by George Shafer, PhD; Lighting Workshop led by Mike Fulford; Sound Reinforcement Workshop led by Mike Sapp.

  • Wounded Women Warriors Dinner, Winding River, Mixed Doubles Barbershop Quartet performed patriotic songs.

  • Wounded Warriors Picnic Supper, Winding River, Mixed Doubles Barbershop Quartet performed patriotic songs.

  • Church Picnic, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Mixed Doubles Barbershop Quartet performed medley of songs.

2010

  • Annual Brunswick Arts Council Luncheon.  Sue MacCallum spoke as President of the Performing Arts Division on the positive effect of The Arts on young children.  Her guest singer/speaker was Cassie McKee.

  • TV Interview with Megan Masser at ATMC.  Interviewees:  Sue MacCallum and Martha Koletar.  Subject:  Winding River Players.

  • Grand Opening Reception, Playhouse 211, Southport, Winding River Players serve as greeters, assist with set-up, operate cash register, serve at wine bar and appetizer tables.

  • Christmas party, Arbor Landing Assisted Living, Ocean Isle Beach, Mixed Doubles Barbershop Quartet sings holiday songs for residents.

  • Christmas party, Kempton Place, Wilmington, Mixed Doubles Barbershop Quartet sings holiday songs for residents.

  • Second Dancing with Brunswick County Stars, Brunswick Community College version of Hollywood’s “Dancing with the Stars.”  A scholarship fundraiser sponsored by BCC Foundation, held at BCC Fitness Center gymnasium.  Contestants are prominent local leaders dancing with professional dance teachers.  Juried competition with audience voting.  Scriptwriter, Production Team Member:  Sue MacCallum; wrote script for Emcee, WECT News Anchor, John Evans, and directed entertainment, Winding River Player actors/impersonators:  Martha Koletar as Scarlett O’Hara, Bonnie Guerra as Dorothy (Wizard of Oz), Karen and Mike Dolan, Nina Maurin as Paparazzi, Mary Siekman as Marilyn Monroe, John Donavan as Walter Matthau.  Costumes and props from Omni Storage loaned to Brunswick Community College.

  • Pottery and Art Exhibit, Franklin Square Art Gallery, Southport, Mixed Doubles Barbershop Quartet sings medley of songs.

  • Dinner and Theatre Outing in Wilmington, Organizer: Judy Russi of Winding River Players.  Dinner at Jester’s Java, Performance of Neil Simon’s Chapter Two at Big Dawg Theatre.

  • Sundays at Four Performing Arts Series at Winding River, Aubree Zimmerman sings a repertoire of sacred and popular songs.  Co-Producers:  Sue MacCallum and Susan Zimmerman, Vocal Coach:  Sue MacCallum.  Guest Soloist:  Aubree Zimmerman.  Piano Accompaniment:  Anne Richmond.

  • Sundays at Four Performing Arts Series at Winding River, Brunswick Big Band, performs songs from The Great American Song Book under direction of Frank Mahoney.  Guest Vocalist:   Nick Giannatasio.  Co-Producers:  Sue MacCallum and Susan Zimmerman.

  • Sundays at Four Performing Arts Series at Winding River, Joanie Masino, vocalist and comedian and Alan Nicosia, vocalist, perform solos and duets.  Joanie performs comic skits with puppets. Co-Producers:  Sue MacCallum and Susan Zimmerman.

  • Sundays at Four Performing Arts Series at Winding River, Brunswick Big Band performs songs from The Great American Song Book under the direction of Frank Mahoney.  Guest Vocalist:  Linda Ladrick.  Co-Producers:  Sue MacCallum and Susan Zimmerman.

2009

  • Dinner and Theatre Outing in Wilmington, dinner at The George Restaurant.  Back stage tour of Thalian Hall and production of musical revue, In the Mood.  Organized by Winding River Players.

  • Theatre Outing to Amuzu Theatre in Southport.  Stage II Production of Pirates of Penzance.  Winding River Player, Gwen Shafer, and her daughter Meg, sang in chorus.  Organized by Martha Koletar.

  • Dinner/Theatre Outing to Linda Lavin’s Red Barn Studio Theatre in Wilmington, dinner at Castle Street Café.  Production of Driving Miss Daisy.  Linda Lavin and the two other cast members spoke with us for 20 minutes following the performance.

  • Music Man, Odell Williamson Auditorium.  Mixed Doubles Barbershop Quartet Lead Singer, Bill Fassbender and Bass, Bob Zinke, perform in chorus and quartet for production.

2008

  • USO Variety Show to honor WWII Veterans and fundraiser for Providence Home, Southport Community Center.  Director and Scriptwriter:  Sue MacCallum.  The Winding River Players hosted the event and partnered with several local theatre and dance groups.  “The Players’ dances performed WWII song, “Rosie the Riveter,”  Mixed Doubles Barbershop Quartet sang two patriotic songs, Tappers Extraordinaire performed “Boogie Woogie Boy,” etc.

  • Film Noir Series presented by George Shafer, PhD.

2007

  • Senior Follies Variety Show/Fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity, Odell Williamson Auditorium. Tappers Extrordinaire and Sue MacCallum perform The Charleston dance number for the production.

  • Mixed Doubles Barbershop Quartet sings for Sacred Heart Villas, Kempton Assisted Living, Autumn Care, Dosher Nursing Home.

  • Chicago, Amuzu Theatre, Southport.   The Tappers Extraordinaire and Sue MacCallum perform “The Charleston.”

  • Carolina Revue, a Variety Show/Fundraiser for The Providence Home.  Director and Script Writer: Sue MacCallum.  85 local performers from 20 performing arts groups performed.  The Winding River Players performed several musical numbers and skits, including scenes from I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change.

  • A Time to Remember, a Fundraiser for North Carolina Children’s Home, co-produced by Sue MacCallum of Winding River Players and Maggie Edwards of Ocean Ridge Singers, Odell Williamson Auditorium.   A variety show featuring performers from both groups.

  • Showboat Gambling Gala, Henrietta II.  A Fundraiser to benefit the preservation and advancement of Thalian Hall, Wilmington.  Production Director and Scriptwriter:  Sue MacCallum.  Winding River Players and Tappers Extraordinaire performed.

  • Really Not Ready for Prime Time, hosted by George Shafer as “Drew Carey.”  An evening of improvisation led by Winding River Players.

  • Outing to Cameron Arts Museum, Wilmington, to view William Ivey’s Broadway costume designs, “Between Taste and Travesty", preceded by lunch at the museum and visit to the Museum Store.

2006

  • Mixed Doubles Barbershop Quartet was formed under the musical direction of Barbara Berry;  Bill Fassbender,Lead; Bob Zinke, Bass; Barbara Berry, Baritone, Sue MacCallum, Tenor.

  • Habitat for Humanity Fundraiser, Odell Williamson Auditorium, featured several members of The Winding River Players, including The Mixed Doubles Barbershop Quartet.

2002 - 2004

  • Nine ladies gather with Sue MacCallum to perform a dance number to “Jingle Bells Rock” for the Holiday Brunch at Carolina National Golf Club.  Dancers subsequently visited long-term care communities to perform the dance, a “Twelve Days of Christmas” skit and sing carols ~ Christmas 2002, 2003 and 2004.

  • Christmas programs performed in Shallotte and Southport, including Winding River Players dancers and singers.
